 Many SOS Members have reported that Amino Acids worked for them and some reported that they worked extremely well in fighting or stopping many forms of Depression.

Research the subject; talk to others and seek help if you suffer from Depression.

Amino Acid Dosing Guidelines.

 

 

In general, researchers recommend taking Amino Acids Y~ an hour before or 1 to 2 hours after foods.

 

It is recommend by researchers that you take the lowest effective dose and increase or decrease the dosage to achieve the desired effect as needed. During times of extreme stress you may want to increase your dosage but do not exceed the maximum dosage.

 

Take 5-Htp or L-Tryptophan at night just before sleep.

 

Take DL-Phenylalanine, L-Phenylalanine or 1-Tyrosine morning and/or afternoon. You should be aware that too high or the maximum dose of Phenylalanine or Tyrosine can cause irritability in some persons. Divide your daily dose into 2 parts and take ~/z morning and Y2 afternoon.

 

L-Glutarnine and GABA can be taken any time of day including at bedtime, but you should be aware that in some persons too high or the maximum dose of these products can cause sleepiness or a spacey feeling in the day time and too high a dose of GABA can cause a tingling sensation in many persons. Divide your daily dose into 2 or 3 parts and take morning and afternoon or- at bedtime, morning and afternoon. If you find it makes you too sleepy for comfort take entire dose at night, but decrease or eliminate 5-HTP or L-Tryptophan dose.

 

Do not take L-Glutamine or GABA at the same time with Phenylalanine or L-Tyrosine as this will mutually cancel out their benefits.

 

Generally Effective and Maximum Daily Doses:

 

5-HTP: 100 to 200 mg. Maximum Dose: 400 mg.

 

1-Tryptophan: 500 to 1500 mg. Maximum Dose: 3000 mg.

 

DL-Phenylalanine: 500 to 1500 mg. Maximum Dose: 3000 mg.

 

L-Phenylalanine: 500 to 1500 mg. Maximum Dose: 3000 mg.

 

D-Phenylalanine: 500 to 1500 mg. Maximum Dose: 3000 mg.

 

L-Tyrosine: 500 to 1500 mg. Maximum Dose: 3000 mg.

 

L-Glutamine: 2000 to 4000 mg. Maximum Dose: 12000 mg.

 

GABA: 500 to 1500 mg. Maximum Dose: 3000 mg.

 

Remember to take a RDA dose of vitamin B-6 at least daily or ideally with each dose of amino acids.

 

Suggested Amino Acid Supplementation by Drug of Abuse or Addiction

 

Find your drug(s) of abuse on chart then look at the syndromes that are possible for each. Take the

suggested Amino Acid by drug of abuse for the syndromes you are experiencing using the provided

dosage guidelines.

 

 

 

Alcohol: L-Glutamine for craving and mood/GABA for anxiety/5-HTP or L-Tryptophan for sleep and depression.

 

Marijuana: L-Glutamine for craving and mood/DL-Phenytaianine or L-Tyrosine for A-motivation syndrome/GABA for anxiety/5-HTP or L-Tryptophan for sleep and depression.

 

Cocaine or Amphetamine: L-Glutamine for craving and mood/L-Tyrosine for alertness and mood/5-HTP or L-Tryptophan for sleep and depression.

 

Opiates: D-Phenylalanine or DL-Phenylatanine for craving and pain/L-Glutamine for craving/GABA for anxiety/5-HTP or L-Tryptophan for sleep and depression.

 

Benzodiazepines:        GABA for anxiety, cravings and mood/5-HTP or L-tryptophan for sleep and depression.

 

Hallucinogens/Ecstasy:          L-Tyrosine for cravings, mental clarity and focus/GABA for anxiety/5-HTP for sleep and depression.
